I Can See For Miles – The Who Smothers Bros 1967

You Tube post by stg0691

album credit

According to a You Tube post by Aveteran, (a Stones roadie in NA during the 60s) BJ is relegated to the back of the stage because he was far too deep into drugs at this point to play anything – surprise, surprise.

Atomic Pelvis

30 years ago I walked into the bank to make a deposit. (That’s how it was done in the olden days). All the tellers were buzzing…Elvis was dead. I left the building shaking my head.

From Mad Dogs and Englishman comes the spastic moves of Jerkin’ Joe Cocker…..with a little help from Leon and Rita and the others.

Saw him ’round 1972 at the Forum. What a performance! C’mon Leon now….1, 2, 3, 4

1960’s garage rock. These guys from Los Angeles were very good at it! Pushin’ too hard was their biggest hit in N.A. but I liked this one best.

The First Cut is the deepest is a Cat Stevens song done by even more artists than shown here.

Some say P.P. Arnold’s version is the best (not released in North America). Others say Ronstadt’s is the best Cut cover. You decide – but don’t pick Rod’s…please.

I remember when my brother came home with a copy of “The World of Cat Stevens”.   Islam’s First Cut was released in the UK but not in North America – Keith Hampshire’s was the only version I knew. Cat singing it just didn’t do it for me.
