Van is the man but we have a man made problem on our hands. This is where intelligence and none whatsoever come together – on the shores of Hudson Bay…..

Before I take 3 weeks off the grid, or any form of voltage whatsoever, I want to leave on a high/low note.

Sinful….

Four versions of the same song. First We Take Manhattan by Leonard Cohen.

Click on picture above to watch Leonard’s version.

This one include Leonard in the video. No wonder, it was recorded by Jennifer Warnes, who not only has been in the industry a long time, but has toured with LC as a singer.

Funeral For a Friend

May 12, 2008

My good buddy was a great piano player. He often pounded and thrashed those ivories rather than tickle them – and he loved this song. I got to love it too by being exposed to it daily as we drove around in his beater with an absolutely awesome 8-track system. (It was ‘74 or so).

When he was killed a few years later by a drunk driver, this song took on a whole new meaning for me.

Elloitt Phone Home

For many musicians, home is where you hang your hat. But it would be nice if this American was as popular in his home as he is in Europe. Mr. Elliott Murphy

This Birmingham (England for #$%#$^ sake) group is best know for having introduced us to Steve Winwood. Love that deep throaty Hammond Organ…and his unique voice.

The Cat Came Back

May 1, 2008

The Cat Stevens comeback has had a hard road to follow. Some accuse him of attempting to use CD sales to fund Al Qaeda. Some have gone after him for his anti-semetic remarks. Some say he is a fake muslim. Whatever.
Here’s 2 songs from the early seventies that I played as a kid. I always dreamed of playing the second with my future son. Well he has come and grown and is too busy being a teenager to bother trying to learn to play this with his old man. Sniff.
