Boy Roy

At one time Roy Orbison was the biggest selling recording artist in the world. In the late 80s he made a brief comeback with his friends in the Willburys and then…he was gone.

Arthur Lee and Love were leaders in many ways musically during the clouded days of the 60s and 70s. Try 2 of Arthur’s offerings:

A tribute to Arthur Lee:
This is one of those songs that just needs an acoustic guitar, so we would play it in all sorts of casual spots…..under the stars, around a campfire, on a shore somewhere, in a smoke-filled apartment….wherever.
We gotta live. Peace.

Nanci Griffith Take One
July 20, 2008
Nanci Griffith is one of my very favourite performers. She lays her soul on the line. I challenge you to watch this and not fall completely in love with Nanci (the performer). Here she is covering a song by the one and only Townes Van Zandt to the expert accompanyment of Mr James Hooker.
She was in town last weekend for the folk festival and I am so sorry that the weather was as bad as it could get. A 60 km/hr breeze, driving rain and temps hovering around the 60 degree mark. Bloody awful but c’est la vie.
