Damage Done

Grads from my old school have put together a web site with a link dedicated to students who are no longer with us. The dearly departed are shown by name and grad year. It is amazing to see the bulge in numbers for students who graduated between 1969 and 1975. I believe the unnatural increase is due to the widespread use of hard drugs during that period. The students, school and most everyone knew that my old high school had a particularly “severe” drug issue. But nothing was done about it. And kids got hooked and later dropped out of life.
One of my favourite songs by “The Wolf” is from their Steppenwolf 7 album (1970), a cover of Hoyt Axton’s Snowblind Friend. This one redone almost 20 years later and just over 20 years ago:
