Wall of Sound

November 21, 2010

Thanks for the pic Micheal me b’y – I like it!

Sound good? Most of us take stage sound and studio sound pretty much for granted. But a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make what you hear sound the way it does.
The Grateful Dead had their version of the wall but the nod for “wall of sound” studio production seems to belong to that famous 60’s record producer…..what’s the guy’s name…Harvey something…….Spector…Phil Spector.
He produced and arranged a lot of stuff in that era with his full sound experience. Are you experienced?
Here’s one of my favouriite full bodied sound songs from the early 60’s done by Spector.

Da Do Ron Ron (when he walked me home) – The Crystals 1963
