They Took Paradise & Put Up a Parking Lot

Back in 1973, when this song was released, I was living at the edge of suburban Montreal, with fields and forest behind the family home. It was my paradise alright; with thousands of Triliums growing everywhere (don’t pick ’em – that’s Ontario’s official flower).

Anyway, this Ontario band’s label “Daffodil” reminds me of those flowers – long since paved over. This was only a big hit in some locations – should have been much bigger.
