Easy Come Easy Go

December 31, 2011

My Chinese friend Da Lin, was looking at the old ornaments (which were hung from the tree with care) when he said “we hang decorations too, but they are all new”.
None of this looking back but instead looking forward – a chance to correct the wrongs of the past instead of repeating those mistakes. They got it right.

Let’s wave and say “Ni hao (nee how),”
Let’s wave and say “Ni hao.”
Let’s say “hello” to all our friends,
Let’s wave and say “ni hao.”
Chinese dragon, Chinese dragon,
Breathing fire, breathing fire,
Happy, happy new year,
Happy, happy new year,
Gung hay fat choy,
Gung hay fat choy.

Goodbye. Hello.
