Colonial Beats

One of my favourite places that I have visited in the land of the colonisers is Edinburgh, Scotland. The city is a nice size, in a superb location and has its very own Scott Monument. What more could you ask for?
Of course, when they (Europeans) colonised Turtle Island, they took all the land, the air, the water and all life that existed pre-contact.
But the beat goes on. Drumbeats = heartbeats.
These guys are good – not just as drummers but as performers. This was recorded at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2012.

There is a much different drum beat on Turtle Island: here the beat is not military precision. It comes from the water, air and land.
