Journey Thru the Past

There’s no place like home.

When I bought Harvest, I also picked up another copy of After the Goldrush. I don’t know…it seemed to me my first After the Goldrush had a few scratches and that just wasn’t right. (Never mattered to me up until that time).

Buying those two albums was a turning point in my musical life and the life of friends. We used to sit on the steps at school playing Neil Young songs, then we would go to Cedar Park, into the woods and drink, smoke and play more Young songs by a campfire. Good times. The forest is all homes now but Neil and the memories sail on forever.

Watching this is beautiful because there is no knowing applause by the audience as Neil starts each piece…..this was the first time most of them had heard this stuff, stuff we’ve heard a million times since. And we’re getting old.
