Probably the fifth song I learned back in 1970….don’t think I bothered to learn the bridge until many years later. Interesting song because of the lyrics. NOT because it shocked me to hear a pop song about a transvestite…..on the contrary, because it DIDN’T shock me. It was The Kinks and they had written many songs dealing with subject matter that most avoided. That’s what made them above and far beyond.
