When Musical Passion Infects the Spirit

It’s a beautiful thing when a person has a serious creative and artistic appetite. A beautiful thing to witness and experience.

One of the amazing characteristics about the remote city I live in is the space. Space that is filled in by the arts. And out of those nooks and crannies appears glimpses of passion directed at those arts.

An hour’s flight south of here (or a seven hour drive) lies another island with a wealth of artistic prowess. This island includes the city of St Paul, Minnesota.

Patricia Kopatchinskaja has it. She is an artistic partner with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and here she explains her passion and how folk and classical music became a part of who she is.
