My Saturday Evening Post

December 17, 2016

My daughter gave me a 100 year old copy of a Saturday Evening Post (complete with Norman Rockwell front cover of a young woman and her suitors evidently discussing “love ”  * – the gammy copy was found in her 100 year old house and this January 1917 edition was one of Rockwell’s first covers in a 47 year relationship with the magazine).
And since it is one week until Christmas eve I thought I’d post a little fun ska song dealing with a very serious  (Syria’s) question / What is love?
Is love inclusion, tolerance, fairness, peace…or is it racism, authoritarianism, corruption, war? We seem to have trouble with that one.
Fake News For Modern Man & Woman. Q2: Which is fake? Santa Clause, our love for each other, or the son of God? Just wondering.

Jeopardy answer: Word when defined is deep affection, fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy, attachment, endearment; devotion, adoration, doting, idolization, worship; passion, ardor, desire, lust, yearning, infatuation,
“his friendship with Helen grew into love”
compassion, care, caring, regard, solicitude, concern, friendliness, friendship, kindness, charity, goodwill, sympathy, kindliness, altruism, unselfishness, philanthropy, benevolence, fellow feeling, humanity

Here’s a German Ska band (a music style with roots in Jamaica) covering a song by Trinidadian-German artist known as Haddaway. (link to his cut)
